Ruston is the parish seat of Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. The town owes its origins to the railroad industry, and the tracks that run through the middle of the historic downtown are an ever-present character in this quaint university-town’s story. Lincoln Parish is home to Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, and Grambling State University in Grambling, both of which contribute to the vibrancy and forward-thinking vibe found in these cities, our parish, and our surrounding communities.
Ruston is proud of its cultural community. Art classes and galleries, community theatre and band, traveling and local performances, as well as public art with murals and the Bulldog Project contribute to its charm and interest. Its longest-running event is the Louisiana Peach Festival each June, where sweet juicy fruit is found everywhere from face paint to specialty cocktails.
Downtown Ruston is the heart of the community, and offers a variety of boutiques, shops, and restaurants. But across the city, opportunities abound for shopping, eating, exploring, and recreation. The Rock Island Greenway, named after the railroad that once ran along part of the course, is a shared-use walking and bicycling path that runs north to south across the city. Just north of town is Lincoln Parish Park that includes picnic spots, fishing opportunities, and campgrounds. It also boasts one of the best mountain bike trails in America.
Century Next Bank began in Ruston in 1905, originally known as Ruston Building and Loan. For more than a century, we have remained dedicated to the people in our communities. We take community banking seriously. Just as our footprint has grown to include locations in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, and Ashley County, Arkansas, our commitment to providing next-level service to our communities has grown even stronger.
We have two locations in Ruston. Our Main Office is in the downtown area on Vienna Street, and our Farmerville Highway Branch is on Hwy 33. We are devoted to community involvement both as an institution and as a team of employees. We offer a full selection of business and personal banking products, and, because we’re a community bank, we can provide a level of service and commitment to our customers that a commercial bank cannot. We invite you to give us the opportunity to show you what it means to Bank with Locals.
