It’s September, and teachers and students are in full swing of school work and activities. We continue to highlight teachers from Ashley County. We are blessed to have some of the best teachers serving our community and impacting our children.
Ramona Sivils is a 4th grade teacher at Allbritton Elementary in the Hamburg School District, and she is entering her fifth year of teaching. Ramona became a teacher because she is passionate about children, and she wants to make a difference in their lives. She loves the “light bulb moment” when a student finally understands a concept they have been working on. Ramona has five children with her husband Timmy. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Second, Heather Boykin is a 4th grade teacher at Crossett Elementary School. She has been teaching since 2012. Heather says that for as long as she can remember, she wanted to be a teacher. She loves working with children! As a teenager, she worked as a babysitter in the summer and planned fun activities and learning experiences for the kids she babysat. She has always taught math and science, enjoying every second of it. She loves watching students push themselves to learn challenging material. Heather stated, “being a teacher is the most rewarding job.” She strives to make a difference in the lives of her students in the short amount of time they are with her. She hopes they will always remember how much she cares about them and wants to see them be successful in every part of their lives.
Century Next Bank thanks all teachers for their dedication to our children and school districts. Be sure to check back with our blog as we continue to feature teachers in our communities.
