Here at Century Next, we consider our employees family… and our family is growing! Today we want to introduce you to three new faces at the bank who joined us in April.
First, Alayna Batterton is working as a Universal Banker, or “teller”, at our main office in Ruston, Louisiana, at 505North Vienna Street. She is a Lincoln Parish native from Choudrant, and is happy living here close to her family – she’s the oldest of 5 kids! Alayna is very involved with Christ Church in Ruston, and can often be found playing Phase 10, her favorite card game, or eating at Raw, her favorite local restaurant. She shares her home with a Pomeranian named Izzy, and a beta fish named Zeus, but probably isn’t home much since she is entering her junior year at Louisiana Tech University in Family & Child Studies, with a double concentration in Child Life and Child Development AND warmly serving customers at our drive-through. Century Next is Alayna’s first experience with a banking job, and she said her favorite part of the experience so far is friendly people—her coworkers and customers.
Next, Makayla Hunter has also joined us as a Universal Banker at the drive-up window, but she’s at our branch location at 2109 Farmerville Highway in Ruston. Makayla is originally from Calhoun, LA, but has been working in Ruston for 3 years. She is a student in the LPN Program at Delta Community College, and enjoys working in Lincoln Parish because of our welcoming community. Like Alayna, Makayla is involved at Christ Church in Ruston, and her hobbies include being outdoors and binge-watching One Tree Hill. Her favorite place to eat in town is Scott’s Catfish and Seafood, and she brings laughter to her coworkers each day with funny expressions and a great sense of humor. This is Makayla’s first experience in a banking position, and when asked her favorite part of being with Century Next so far, she expressed gratitude for the bank family--for how genuine and kind everyone is.
Finally, Jessica Slaughter joined the team as Employee & Community Engagement Coordinator for Louisiana, after having worked for 8 years with an arts nonprofit, the North Central Louisiana Arts Council. She is originally from Columbia, LA, but has lived in Ruston for 10 years. Her family includes husband Joey, who works in the School of Design at Louisiana Tech, son Sylas who is 12, and daughter Eero who is counting the days till she turns 9. Jessica enjoys piddling in her flower beds and DIY home projects with her husband. She is involved at The Bridge Community Church, and serves on the Ruston Cultural District Board of Directors. She is infatuated with historic downtown Ruston, and enjoys eating everywhere downtown because she can walk there from her house. Also new to the banking business, Jessica is enjoying working with a large group, and appreciates the support and teamwork that is shared in all levels of the organization.
We are so happy to count these three as part of our growing Century Next family. Be sure to say hi when you come in!
